Senior Corporate Counsel

About the role

Al-Ansari & Associates is seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel to provide expert legal advice on complex corporate and commercial matters. The role involves drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, joint ventures and other transactional documents, as well as advising on governance, compliance and risk management for clients in Qatar and the wider region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and support on corporate and commercial matters, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, joint ventures and transactional documentation.
• Advise clients on corporate governance, regulatory compliance and risk management across Qatar and the region.
• Collaborate with partners and associates to develop legal strategies and support litigation teams on corporate‑related disputes.
• Manage client relationships, mentor junior lawyers and contribute to the firm’s knowledge development.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in corporate and commercial law, with proven ability to handle contract drafting, negotiation and transactional work.
• Strong background in business law, banking and finance, construction, TMT or intellectual property, enabling multidisciplinary handling of matters.
• In‑depth knowledge of Qatari laws and regulations; familiarity with regional or international legal frameworks is an advantage.
• Excellent legal research, analytical and problem‑solving skills, with high attention to detail and sound judgment.
• High‑level written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is a strong advantage.
• Experience mentoring or supervising junior lawyers and contributing to professional development.
• Law degree from an accredited institution; admission to practice law in Qatar or another recognized jurisdiction preferred.
