Senior Data Scientist

About the role

Snoonu is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead the research, development, and deployment of advanced time‑series forecasting and optimisation models that power its logistics operations. You will work cross‑functionally with engineers and product teams to turn complex data into actionable insights that improve delivery efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and benchmark time‑series forecasting models (e.g., ARIMA, Prophet, LightGBM, TFT, DeepAR, N‑BEATS) for ETA, preparation times and demand forecasting.
• Develop optimisation algorithms and solvers (linear programming, mixed‑integer programming, heuristic methods, OR‑Tools, PuLP) to enhance route planning and resource allocation.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain ML models in production, including retraining pipelines and performance tracking.
• Conduct rigorous experiments, A/B tests and validation studies to ensure model robustness in real‑world scenarios.
• Translate analytical results into business insights and present findings to senior leadership.

Required profile

• MSc in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or related field (PhD a plus).
• 5+ years of experience in data science, machine learning or statistical modelling with a focus on time‑series forecasting and optimisation.
• Proven experience in the delivery or logistics industry is a strong advantage.

Required skills

• Python with Pandas, NumPy, Scikit‑learn, Optuna, LightGBM, TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Time‑series forecasting tools: ARIMA, Prophet, LightGBM, TFT, DeepAR, N‑BEATS.
• Optimisation techniques and solvers: linear programming, mixed‑integer programming, OR‑Tools, PuLP.
• SQL and large‑scale data handling (BigQuery, Redash or similar).
• Cloud platforms: AWS (ECS, S3, Lambda, Step Functions), GCP (BigQuery, VertexAI), Databricks.
