Senior Obstetrics & Gynecology Consultant (Maternal‑Fetal Medicine)

About the role

Military Medical City Hospital is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynecology with subspecialty expertise in Maternal‑Fetal Medicine to provide advanced care for high‑risk and complex pregnancies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist and consultant‑level management of high‑risk pregnancies and complex maternal‑fetal conditions.
• Perform and interpret advanced obstetric ultrasound, including fetal anatomy, anomaly scans, growth assessment, cervical assessment, multiple pregnancy surveillance, and Doppler studies.
• Assess and manage pregnancies complicated by maternal medical conditions, fetal abnormalities, growth restriction, preterm birth risk, and multiple gestations.
• Offer prenatal diagnosis and counseling, and conduct invasive procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling where privileged.
• Develop individualized antenatal surveillance and delivery plans for complex pregnancies.
• Participate in labor ward coverage, obstetric emergencies, and on‑call duties.
• Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and mentorship to junior physicians and multidisciplinary team members.
• Engage in clinical governance, morbidity‑mortality reviews, quality improvement, and guideline development.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation aligned with hospital policies and international standards.

Required profile

• Medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Specialist/board qualification in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
• Formal fellowship or recognized qualification in Maternal‑Fetal Medicine, Fetal Medicine, or High‑Risk Obstetrics.
• Extensive post‑specialization experience in MFM, preferably at a senior consultant level in a tertiary or high‑volume hospital.
• Demonstrable procedural and ultrasound experience supported by a clinical logbook.
• Eligibility for Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP), Ministry of Public Health – Qatar licensing.
• Previous experience in teaching, clinical leadership, protocol development or quality improvement is desirable.
