Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Avey, a deep‑tech AI company in healthcare, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own end‑to‑end product development for its API Gateway and flagship medical products. This backend‑leaning position reports to the CTO and requires relocation to Doha, Qatar.

Key responsibilities

• Own product areas from architecture and API design through delivery, operation, and iteration in production.
• Design and build high‑throughput, low‑latency backend services in Go, including core parts of the API Gateway.
• Ship frontend features in Next.js/React/TypeScript when needed.
• Ensure production quality with testing, resilience, observability, and on‑call support.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and raise engineering standards.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with full ownership of production systems.
• Proven Go production experience, including concurrency, gRPC, and Protocol Buffers.
• Hands‑on experience with microservices, event streaming (Kafka or equivalent), caching (Redis), and relational databases.
• Full‑stack fundamentals to ship features in Next.js/React/TypeScript when required.
• Strong testing instincts (unit, integration, contract, e2e) and security‑focused engineering.
