Senior Static Engineer – Qatar

About the role

The Senior Static Equipment Engineer leads static equipment engineering for capital projects across the Ammonia and Urea Complex, covering pressure vessels, heat exchangers, reformer furnaces, and high‑pressure urea/carbamate equipment. The role spans concept, feasibility, FEED, detailed design and procurement, ensuring technical integrity and safe execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead static equipment sizing, selection studies and develop design philosophy for new and modification projects, ensuring compliance with international codes and client standards.
• Prepare static equipment lists, design basis and datasheets during FEED, and review licensor and contractor design packages for technical compliance.
• Review detailed design calculations, drawings and vendor documentation during EPC execution, providing technical support for fabrication, inspection and commissioning.
• Prepare and evaluate technical specifications and bid packages for pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, columns and related equipment, managing vendor qualification against ASME/API codes.
• Maintain and update company static equipment design standards, capture lessons learned and mentor junior static equipment engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8–12 years of static equipment engineering experience, preferably in ammonia and urea projects.
• API 510/570/653 certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ASME Section VIII, project procurement processes and relevant engineering software.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with full fluency in English.
