Senior Technical Officer (Civil)

About the role

The Senior Technical Officer (Civil) is responsible for overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance activities within a facilities management environment. The role provides technical direction to Technical Officers and Technicians, ensures proper hand‑over at shift changes, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the team to perform assigned maintenance tasks efficiently and safely.
• Train and mentor staff on preventive maintenance (PPM) procedures and asset knowledge.
• Execute corrective maintenance tasks and ensure timely completion.
• Assist subcontractors, monitor work quality, and report defects to engineers.
• Manage spare‑part requirements, ensure availability, and maintain accurate records.
• Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and COSHH documentation.
• Ensure compliance with HSEQ standards, client regulations, and company policies.

Required profile

• Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant maintenance experience in a similar facility.
• Strong knowledge of regulations such as OSHA, MSDS, NFPA and BS standards.
• Proven ability to lead teams, resolve disputes and prioritize work.

Required skills

• Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Familiarity with MSDS handling.
• Understanding of NFPA standards.
• Awareness of BS (British Standards) requirements.
