Senior Traffic Engineer (Qatar)

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to lead traffic engineering, temporary traffic management and road safety activities on a major roads and infrastructure programme in Qatar. You will coordinate complex traffic diversions, work closely with contractors and multiple stakeholders, and ensure safe, compliant traffic arrangements throughout construction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead consultant‑side traffic engineering, temporary traffic management and road safety across work packages.
• Review and approve Traffic Diversion Plans, method statements, risk assessments and permit submissions.
• Inspect diversion plans before opening to traffic and conduct regular compliance inspections.
• Maintain accurate records of approvals, inspections and corrective actions.
• Advise contractors on traffic‑control techniques, sequencing and interface requirements.
• Liaise with client traffic specialists, Ministry of Interior engineers, local road authorities, police and other parties.
• Participate in Road Safety Audits and monitor mitigation measures.
• Coordinate temporary traffic requirements with construction, utilities, drainage, structures, health‑safety and environmental teams.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in traffic engineering, temporary traffic management and road safety.
• Proven ability to review and approve traffic diversion designs and related documentation.
• Strong knowledge of local traffic regulations and stakeholder coordination.
• Experience working on large‑scale road, utility and drainage projects.
