Sustainability Consultant – ESG & Carbon Accounting

About the role

We are seeking an ESG/Sustainability Associate to join our advisory practice, supporting clients across Qatar and the GCC in building greenhouse‑gas inventories and preparing sustainability reports aligned with GRI Standards and IFRS S1/S2. The role is client‑facing and offers the opportunity to develop deep technical expertise in carbon accounting and sustainability disclosure.

Key responsibilities

• Build GHG Protocol‑compliant emissions inventories (Scope 1, Scope 2 location‑ and market‑based, and Scope 3 across all 15 categories) using activity data and appropriate emission factors.
• Draft sustainability and ESG reports aligned with GRI Standards, including narrative, data tables, and GRI content indices, while considering IFRS S1/S2 and Qatar‑specific disclosure expectations.
• Conduct IFRS S1/S2 readiness assessments, gap analyses, and prepare methodology memos and workpapers ready for third‑party verification.
• Liaise directly with client teams to collect data, resolve gaps, and explain methodology in plain language.
• Support materiality assessments and stakeholder engagement processes that shape report scoping.
• Monitor evolving GRI, ISSB, and Qatar‑specific sustainability disclosure requirements and contribute to internal knowledge‑sharing tools.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in sustainability/ESG consulting, carbon accounting, or related advisory work.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, sustainability, business or a related field.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., IFRS S1/S2, GRI, carbon accounting) are a plus.
• Strong written English; Arabic is a plus for bilingual reporting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the GHG Protocol (Scope 1/2/3 accounting).
• Familiarity with GRI Standards and IFRS S1/S2 (ISSB/TCFD‑aligned frameworks).
• Advanced Excel skills for building formula‑driven, auditable emissions models.
• Experience in carbon accounting and emissions modeling.
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet tight deadlines.
