Technical Officer (Electrical)

About the role

The Technical Officer (Electrical) is responsible for overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance activities within the facility. You will lead a team of technicians, ensure proper hand‑over at shift changes, and report equipment faults to engineers and STOs.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and train technicians on maintenance tasks and asset knowledge.
• Execute and monitor scheduled preventive maintenance (PPM) to ensure timely completion.
• Perform corrective repairs and coordinate subcontractors to meet deadlines.
• Report defects, breakdowns, and spare‑part needs to the Fault Reporting Center or engineering team.
• Maintain quality standards, follow duty rosters, and support internal or external audits.

Required profile

• Diploma in Engineering or equivalent with at least 5 years of relevant maintenance experience.
• Familiarity with health, safety, environment and quality (HSEQ) standards and ability to enforce them.
• Strong team‑building, problem‑solving, and dispute‑resolution skills.
• Ability to work with personnel at all organisational levels and set work priorities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of OSHA, MSDS, NFPA and BS regulations.
• Experience with preventive and corrective electrical maintenance.
• Proficiency in creating Method Statements (MS), Risk Assessments (RA) and COSHH documentation.
