Used Car Buyer – Automotive Procurement

About the role

The Used Car Buyer ensures a robust inventory of high‑quality pre‑owned vehicles for Al‑Futtaim Automotive. This position blends expert vehicle appraisal, negotiation and market analysis to meet stock targets and profitability KPIs.

Key responsibilities

• Purchase pre‑owned vehicles according to the Stock Target and daily availability reports.
• Achieve or exceed KPIs for purchase volume, stock age, trade sales and gross margin.
• Appraise vehicles, estimate repair costs and value them using the latest valuation guide.
• Provide trade‑in valuations for new‑car executives.
• Record all appraisals in IS Auto via Zest and maintain follow‑up files.
• Negotiate purchase terms, complete legal transfer and supply documentation to Administration.
• Ensure purchased vehicles include all required accessories.
• Monitor market trends and adjust purchasing strategies to meet demand.
• Collaborate with sales teams to align buying with upcoming incentives and trends.

• Technical proficiency in vehicle appraisal and repair‑cost estimation.
• Strong negotiation and selling abilities.
• Effective grievance‑resolution and relationship‑building skills.
