VAS Operations & Support Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a VAS Operations & Support Engineer to manage and support live Telecom Value Added Services platforms in a production environment. This hands‑on role focuses on monitoring platform health, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the stability and availability of critical VAS applications.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and support live Telecom VAS platforms and applications in production.
• Monitor platform health, performance, alarms, KPIs, capacity and availability.
• Perform daily health checks and identify potential service degradation before impact.
• Troubleshoot production issues across Linux/Unix servers, databases, APIs, interfaces and messaging services.
• Restore services within agreed SLAs and coordinate escalations with technical teams.
• Manage incidents, problems and changes, including investigation, resolution, validation and closure.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis for major incidents and implement preventive actions.
• Develop scripts and automation using Python, Shell/Bash, SQL and REST APIs to simplify operational tasks.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with live Telecom VAS platforms and day‑to‑day production operations.
• Ability to follow an issue from alarm detection through log investigation, troubleshooting, service restoration, RCA and preventive action.
• Experience working across application, OS, database, API and connectivity layers, not just monitoring a single component.
• Proven capability to independently handle production issues, coordinate with multiple technical teams and vendors, and own service availability.
