Vice President, Financial Institutions and Correspondent Banking Relations

About the role

QNB Group, established in 1964 as Qatar's first Qatari-owned commercial bank and now the largest bank in the Middle East and Africa, is looking for a Vice President for Financial Institutions and Correspondent Banking Relations. The incumbent develops and manages relationships with financial institutions and strengthens correspondent banking ties, extending the Group's reach across the world.

Key responsibilities

• Shareholder and financial: help implement volume, revenue and profit targets, support the SVP in defining KPIs for the Financial Institutions Unit, and meet target budgets for new and existing FI relationships (placements, borrowings, loan syndications).
• Customer relations: build lasting relationships with financial correspondents, coordinate with international branches and subsidiaries, travel abroad to promote QNB, and monitor the departmental P&L for Nostro/Vostro and treasury-related items.
• Business development and credit: support the SVP on credit recommendations and relationship management, approve credit proposals within delegated powers, and report early warning signs on problematic accounts.
• Portfolio management: manage the FI credit portfolio, track external ratings changes, ensure annual reviews are done and reported to executive management and the Board, and supervise Relationship Officers.
• Projects: assist the SVP with international projects such as the Annual IMF Meetings and SIBOS Expos, and take on other assigned projects.
• Compliance and risk: comply with AML, sanctions, data protection, fraud control and conflict of interest policies, act under the Three Lines of Defense, and complete mandatory training and seminars.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Marketing, Banking or Finance.
• Strong knowledge of financial institution business and correspondent relationships, including operations and controls.
• Ability to work independently, resolve staff issues quickly, and stay current with industry developments.
