AC Technician

About the role

A full-time, non-management AC Technician position in West Bay, Doha, Qatar. The technician responds to guest repair requests, resolves maintenance issues with little to no supervision and performs preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues
• Perform preventive maintenance, visual inspections and basic repairs on pumps, motors, plumbing, electrical equipment and guestroom items
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supply, and communicate daily issues to other shifts
• Assist with surface preparation and painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, and clean up after repairs
• Program TVs and perform engineering-related duties
• Use the Lockout/Tagout system and follow safety, security and company policies
• Train and mentor other engineers and perform Engineer on Duty duties, including readings and rounds

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and vocational or technical background preferred
• At least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience preferred
• Valid driver's license
• No supervisory experience required
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds alone, with assistance for heavier loads

Required skills

• CFC certification and compliance with applicable state and federal certification/licensing requirements
• Proficiency in one and above-average skills in two of: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, building management
• Basic ability to repair or replace PVC copper pipe (including soldering)
• Working knowledge of engineering computer programs for preventative maintenance and energy management
