Accounts Payable Specialist – Qatarization

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and detail‑oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to lead our accounts payable function while ensuring compliance with Qatarization requirements. The role involves managing a team, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and continuously improving financial processes and controls.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end accounts payable processes, guaranteeing timely and accurate invoice payments.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounts payable team to meet departmental objectives.
• Review and approve vendor payments, reconciliations, and payment schedules in line with company policies.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial regulations, and accounting standards.
• Monitor cash‑flow needs and support treasury planning activities.
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders, resolving payment issues efficiently.
• Oversee month‑end and year‑end closing activities related to accounts payable.
• Provide accurate documentation and reports for internal and external audits.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen controls.
• Prepare management reports, analysis, and performance metrics for accounts payable operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in finance and accounting, with strong knowledge of accounts payable operations.
• Proven leadership and team‑management experience.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
