Accounts Receivable Accountant

About the role

A customer is hiring an experienced Accounts Receivable Accountant for its Finance team in Qatar (Doha). The role covers managing AR operations, accurate invoicing, payment monitoring, reconciliations and record keeping using SAP. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of AR experience and strong SAP and financial reporting knowledge.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily AR activities: customer invoicing, payment tracking and account reconciliation.
• Prepare, issue and monitor customer invoices in line with contracts and company procedures.
• Record and allocate payments in SAP, and follow up on overdue accounts.
• Prepare AR ageing reports and update management regularly.
• Perform monthly customer account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain customer records, credit notes, debit notes and supporting documents.
• Resolve billing disputes with operations, commercial teams and clients.
• Support month-end and year-end closing, and assist internal and external auditors.
• Identify improvements to invoicing, collections and AR processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of professional AR accounting experience.
• Hands-on SAP experience for AR transactions is mandatory.
• Experience with AR ageing reports and month-end closing.
• Previous experience in Qatar or the GCC is an advantage.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
