Armaments Junior Supervisor - Typhoon

About the role

The Weapons Junior Supervisor is an experienced armament technician who carries out detailed maintenance on the Typhoon aircraft and its components. The post holder maintains airworthiness through task delegation and authorisation, meets delivery targets at a tactical level and leads a team in a diverse operational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out and supervise maintenance, inspection and diagnostic work on the Typhoon, including ground handling, flight servicing, role changes, removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectification, replacements and system tests.
• Ensure work follows the approved data set, the SOW / work package and regulatory requirements, and that staff are competent and approved for their tasks.
• Maintain personal and team task authorisation and keep maintenance scheduled, escalating issues and reporting impacts to the wider programme.
• Develop team members through formal assessments such as PDRs, sponsor training requests and on-the-job training, and guide less experienced members.
• Evaluate faults, raise ad hoc work cards and found faults, and carry out independent inspections.
• Document maintenance activities and airworthiness records, compile reports and escalate issues so servicing stays on schedule.
• Support compliance with MOE and AMC procedures, including oversight checks and control of tooling and test equipment.

Required profile

• Completed Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering or a military equivalent.
• Typically 3+ years' experience, including Typhoon type.
• Academic qualification of at least City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance, or HNC in Typhoon Composite Flight Servicing Engineering.
• Leadership, human factors, E&PW and ITAR awareness.
