Assistant Housekeeping Manager

About the role

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager supports daily shift operations across Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club and Laundry (when applicable). The role ensures guest rooms, public areas and employee spaces are clean, inspected and maintained to Marriott standards while contributing to budget goals and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Verify guest‑room status and communicate updates to the Front Desk promptly.
• Conduct daily inspections of guestrooms and public spaces.
• Prepare work assignments based on immediate cleaning needs and upcoming check‑outs.
• Maintain inventory levels and ensure adequate supplies for the team.
• Supervise housekeeping shift activities, enforce policies and standards.
• Train new room attendants and provide ongoing coaching.
• Schedule staff, track attendance and manage staffing levels to meet operational and financial targets.
• Handle employee relations, disciplinary actions and recognition programs.
• Address guest complaints, develop corrective action plans and promote continuous service improvement.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of housekeeping or related experience.
• OR a 2‑year degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or a related field with no prior experience required.
