Assistant Manager - International Taxation (Qatarization)

About the role

QNB Group, Qatar's first Qatari-owned commercial bank established in 1964, is hiring an Assistant Manager for International Taxation within its Group Financial Control division. The incumbent coordinates taxation matters across the Group, including withholding tax deductions, timely tax return filings and payments to local tax authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate tax provisions for local and international operations with the specialist international taxation team and review the reasonableness of the tax charge
• Ensure compliance with withholding tax (WHT) and other tax obligations, and review opportunities for legitimate tax planning
• Coordinate with divisions and departments to ensure tax compliance, explain deviations and escalate where needed, and liaise with IT on reporting needs
• Provide timely and accurate information to auditors, compliance, tax authorities and risk functions
• Prepare and submit the bank's tax returns, maintain the taxation matrix summarizing tax requirements per jurisdiction, and coordinate taxation due diligence
• Identify tax risks and design mitigating actions, and adhere to taxation policies and procedures
• Comply with legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements, including the Compliance manual, anti-money laundering, sanctions, data protection and fraud control policies, and the Three Lines of Defence framework

Required profile

• University graduate (Bachelor's degree), preferably in Finance, Banking, Economics, Mathematics or Accountancy
• Professional certification such as CPA or CA; a Taxation Certificate is a plus
• Preferred minimum of 3 years' experience in a professional accounting firm, tax consultancy or major bank with exposure to the taxation function
• Good oral and written communication skills in English; Arabic or French desirable
