Assistant Operation Controller – Aviation Operations

About the role

As an Assistant Operation Controller you will support the Operations Controller in creating flight plans, delivering pre‑flight briefings, monitoring flights and securing diplomatic permits, ensuring safety, efficiency and customer satisfaction for charter operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in generating flight plans, pre‑flight briefings and Flight Watch.
• Arrange diplomatic permits and coordinate with Qatar embassies and civil aviation authorities worldwide.
• Respond promptly to charter sales inquiries and communicate any NOTAMs, slots, parking or schedule impacts.
• Perform operational checks on meteorological and route conditions and inform Operations Controllers of any safety‑critical changes.
• Maintain operational systems with up‑to‑date permit status, routes, restrictions and flight information.
• Support IOC Management by addressing NCC issues, cost details and highlighting critical operational matters.
• Coordinate with Charter Sales and the IOC Duty Manager on schedule‑affecting information.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in aviation operations.
• Possession of a Flight Dispatch License or Certificate issued by a regulatory authority.
• Experience in business aviation operations and ability to work in a high‑stress, dynamic environment (preferred).
• Strong analytical thinking and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Flight dispatch procedures and licensing.
• Knowledge of jet aircraft dispatching, EDTO, MNPS, PACOTS and AUSOTS.
• Familiarity with EASA Air Operations Regulations.
