Assistant Safety Officer

About the role

The Assistant Safety Officer will ensure fire and life safety across the hotel, complying with NFPA standards, local regulations and Radisson policies. The role involves daily inspections, equipment maintenance and supporting a strong safety culture for staff and guests.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections to identify and correct unsafe conditions, fire hazards and unsafe staff practices.
• Maintain and regularly inspect fire protection systems, including hydrants, hose reels, extinguishers, alarms and emergency devices.
• Test fire safety equipment and emergency systems, keeping accurate maintenance records and logs.
• Ensure standby generators, emergency lighting, exits and escape routes are serviceable.
• Inspect electrical installations, wiring, heaters and other potential fire hazards.
• Implement fire and safety measures for hotel events, functions and special activities.
• Organise regular fire drills, safety meetings and employee awareness training.
• Report unsafe conditions to Heads of Department and the Chief Engineer and follow up until resolved.
• Maintain comprehensive safety records, inspection reports and incident documentation.

Required profile

• Knowledge of NFPA standards, local fire safety regulations and hotel safety policies.
• Ability to conduct inspections, identify hazards and take immediate corrective action.
• Experience maintaining fire protection and life‑safety equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to keep accurate records.
