Business Finance Specialist – Commercial (Food Vertical)

About the role

You will act as the finance co‑pilot to the Food General Manager, partnering with Commercial, Finance, Strategy, Product and Marketing teams. You will own the Food P&L, challenge commercial assumptions, and translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Food GM in weekly commercial steering meetings and strategic debates.
• Own the end‑to‑end Food P&L, including revenue, take‑rate, contribution margin and bottom‑line analysis.
• Collaborate with Account Managers to design commission structures, joint business plans and promotional strategies.
• Validate commercial assumptions with data‑driven analysis and present findings to senior leadership.
• Develop one‑page narratives that simplify messy P&L dynamics for decision‑makers.
• Lead financial cases for new initiatives such as commission tiers, exclusivity deals and marketing co‑investments.
• Model discount impact, basket size, customer LTV and margin trade‑offs for promo planning.
• Build and maintain BI dashboards, data pipelines and self‑serve scorecards for the commercial P&L.

Required profile

• Strong background in FP&A, commercial finance or business partnering, preferably in fast‑growth tech‑enabled consumer businesses.
• Proven ability to work directly with commercial leaders and influence decision‑making.
• Experience operating in ambiguous, high‑growth environments where processes are built on the fly.
• 7+ years of relevant experience, indicating a senior‑level professional.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel / Google Sheets.
• Experience with enterprise planning tools such as TM1 or IBM Planning Analytics.
• Proficiency in building BI dashboards and handling large, messy datasets.
