Buyer – Procurement and Sourcing Specialist

About the role

The Buyer supports procurement and sourcing activities for Emerson's Measurement Systems & Solutions business, ensuring timely availability of components, services and materials while driving cost optimisation and supply‑chain risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Create and process purchase orders for measurement system components and obtain supplier quotations.
• Coordinate with suppliers to meet delivery commitments and resolve order, invoice or supplier issues.
• Support inventory management, localisation, sourcing and cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Develop sourcing strategies for key commodities and collaborate with Operations, Engineering and Service Management on procurement decisions.
• Monitor supplier performance, drive continuous‑improvement projects and maintain accurate ERP records.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration or related field.
• 2‑3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement or materials management.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and negotiation abilities.
• Effective communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or JD Edwards.
• Organisational and negotiation skills.
