Chef-Head

About the role

The St. Regis Residence in Marsa Arabia Island, Doha, is looking for a full-time Chef-Head (management position) to run its kitchen. The role is accountable for the success of daily kitchen operations, leading the staff and managing all food-related functions while improving guest and employee satisfaction and keeping the operating budget under control.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all kitchen areas and shifts, ensuring consistent, high-quality food and compliance with food safety, sanitation and brand standards.
• Prepare and cook food regularly and for special guests or events, and develop, design and create new menus and recipes.
• Review and adjust kitchen systems and procedures, maintain purchasing, receiving and storage standards, and support portion and waste controls.
• Lead and manage the culinary team, including coaching, mentoring, scheduling, performance appraisals and hiring support.
• Manage day-to-day operations, track employee time and attendance, order uniforms and review staffing levels against budget goals.
• Handle guest complaints, coach staff on guest expectations and provide ongoing training on menu items.
• Develop environmentally friendly processes for food preparation, energy use and waste management.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, or a 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management or a related major.
• 4 years of experience in culinary, food and beverage or a related field, or 2 years of experience with a degree.
