Commis 1

About the role

The Commis 1 will support kitchen operations at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha, preparing meals, maintaining food quality, and assisting the culinary team in a luxury hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals, substitute items, and cold foods according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters; pull food from freezer storage to thaw.
• Maintain food logs, ensure proper portioning, arrangement and garnish, and monitor food quality and quantity.
• Communicate assistance needs during busy periods and inform chefs of excess items for daily specials.
• Support Food & Beverage service staff with menu specials and out‑of‑stock items.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of related culinary experience.
• Technical or vocational school education in a related field.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Commitment to safety, uniform standards and confidentiality.

Required skills

• Operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, broilers, grills and roasters.
• Food preparation, portion control, and garnishing techniques.
• Maintaining food safety logs and quality standards.
