Commissioning Lead (Process Hook Up)

About the role

The Commissioning Lead (Process Hook Up) will oversee the offshore hook‑up and commissioning phases for a major oil & gas operator in Qatar. Working on a 28‑day on/28‑day off rotation, you will guide the main contractor, sub‑contractors and vendors to ensure safe, efficient and compliant delivery of the compression system.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical direction during offshore hook‑up, pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with the HUC team, facilities team, EPC contractor and operations personnel.
• Review and approve contractor procedures, manage red‑line documentation and ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Support change‑management processes and qualification of new suppliers.
• Monitor contractor manpower loading, schedule critical milestones and develop recovery plans.
• Validate test and check sheets, witness scope of work sign‑offs and ensure accurate progress reporting.
• Participate in quality audits and report findings with corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in large‑scale oil & gas commissioning, preferably offshore compression.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and manage complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of process principles, industry codes and EPC contract management.
