Compliance Officer

About the role

A Compliance Officer is needed in Doha to support the development, initiation and maintenance of policies and procedures for the Compliance Program, preventing illegal, unethical or improper conduct. The role works closely with the SCO and other departments such as Internal Audit and GHRD.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and maintenance of compliance policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with departments such as Internal Audit and GHRD to gather information on compliance issues and report them to the SCO.
• Support investigations of alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and the Code of Conduct.
• Review, evaluate and follow up compliance issues raised by management and employees.
• Identify compliance vulnerabilities and risks and report them to the SCO, and monitor corrective action plans.
• Provide regular reports on the operation and progress of compliance efforts and ensure violations are reported properly.
• Manage the compliance hotline and help run a compliance communication program, including promoting the hotline, raising awareness of the Code of Conduct and explaining new and existing compliance policies.
• Carry out compliance assessments of laws, policies and the Code of Conduct, analyze internal and external compliance reports, and support compliance training and awareness initiatives.

Required profile

• Fluent in English and Arabic, written and spoken.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with attention to detail and thoroughness.
• Good drafting skills and the ability to turn business processes into legally sound documents.
• Confident interaction with senior executives and good interpersonal, diplomatic and collaborative skills.
• Ability to influence, build relationships at all levels, conduct meetings and presentations, and draft high-quality communications.
• Interest in industry bodies and willingness to share knowledge.
