Construction Supervisor – Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Construction Supervisor – Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) to lead on‑site construction activities for major onshore oil and gas projects in Qatar. The role ensures safe, efficient execution of all works while meeting project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the HSE leader on site, enforce safety regulations, and manage Permit‑to‑Work, isolation and lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
• Supervise EPIC contractors, coordinate mobilization, and conduct daily inspections of work, personnel and equipment.
• Review and approve contractor method statements, risk assessments, and material requisitions.
• Oversee installation, testing and commissioning of electrical systems, transformers, switchgears, bus ducts, UPS, instrumentation, cable trays, power/control/fiber optic cabling, fire alarm, CCTV, telecom, control panels, earthing, lightning protection and cathodic protection.
• Attend and sign off RFIs, witness SAT and pre‑commissioning activities, lead mechanical completion and manage punch lists.
• Provide regular progress, HSE and quality reports, and support as‑built documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• 12–15 years of E&I construction experience on onshore oil & gas projects.
• Proven experience in greenfield and brownfield environments, live plant tie‑ins and substation work.
• Additional training in QA/QC practices is preferred.

• Electrical systems installation and commissioning (transformers, switchgears, bus ducts, UPS).
• Instrumentation and control system installation.
• Cable routing, termination and testing (power, control, fiber optic).
• Fire alarm, CCTV and telecom system integration.
• Control panel, junction box and earthing system setup.
• Lightning protection and cathodic protection installation.
• Inspection, testing and commissioning procedures (RFIs, ITPs, SAT, pre‑commissioning).
• Mechanical completion and punch‑list management.
• As‑built documentation preparation.
