Contracts Manager – Qatar Project

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead the contracts function for a major project in Qatar. The role involves overseeing the full contract lifecycle, from subcontract formation to close‑out, while ensuring commercial and contractual compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Contracts Group, managing team members and subcontractors.
• Prepare and negotiate subcontract agreements, including flow‑down conditions, commercial qualification, and tender evaluation.
• Communicate signed contracts to relevant parties and provide interpretation for implementation.
• Develop and maintain contract strategies, processes and procedures.
• Participate in kick‑off meetings, post‑award administration, payment applications, bonds, insurance and warranties.
• Set and monitor key performance indicators for contracts personnel, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Oversee re‑measurement, quantity agreement, audits and internal reporting.
• Manage change orders, claim preparation, negotiation and resolution.
• Provide contractual advice and training to company staff and contribute to risk management.

Required profile

• Degree in engineering, quantity surveying, commercial management, law or related field.
• Chartered status, preferably with a relevant postgraduate qualification.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in contracts management, preferably in oil & gas or related sectors.
• Demonstrated commercial and contractual acumen.
• Proven ability to lead multinational teams and work effectively in the Middle East.
