About the role
The Counselor/Coordinator, Health & Wellness at Northwestern University Qatar provides licensed mental‑health services, develops wellness programs, and oversees disability‑accommodation services for the campus community.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver culturally grounded individual and group psychotherapy, conduct assessments, crisis interventions, and interpret psychological inventories.
- Maintain confidential counseling records, manage case loads, and provide after‑hours on‑call support.
- Design, implement, and evaluate health‑ and wellness‑education initiatives; represent the counseling unit on‑ and off‑campus and collaborate with Education City partners.
- Serve as the primary liaison for the AccessibleNU office, coordinating accommodation requests and ensuring compliance with accessibility standards and Qatari regulations.
- Collect and manage student immunization records and align counseling services with Northwestern University‑CAPS standards.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work or a related field.
- Five to eight years of post‑master’s experience in a university counseling center or comparable setting.
- Current licensure for independent practice in the United States, Qatar, or an equivalent jurisdiction.
- Proven ability to work within a highly cohesive, interdisciplinary team.
