Cutting Machine Operator – Textile Manufacturing

About the role

The Cutting Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining cutting equipment to produce precise textile components according to production specifications and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and run laser, plasma, CNC, die‑cutting or blade cutting machines based on work orders and technical drawings.
• Interpret blueprints, cutting layouts and ensure accurate dimensions and optimal material usage.
• Adjust machine parameters such as speed, blade type, tension and depth to meet quality requirements.
• Perform pre‑operation checks, routine cleaning, lubrication and replace worn tools.
• Monitor the cutting process, inspect output for defects and report any deviations.
• Log production data, material consumption and communicate issues to supervisors.
• Collaborate with warehouse and QA teams to verify material quality and support material flow.
• Implement waste‑reduction and nesting techniques to minimise material loss.

Required profile

• High school diploma or vocational certificate in a mechanical or technical field (preferred).
• 2–3 years of experience operating industrial cutting machines.
• Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability.
• Ability to work under deadlines and follow health, safety and environmental procedures.
