Data, Analytics and Statistics Lead

About the role

A consultancy is supporting a client on a major transport-sector government programme in Doha and is looking for a senior specialist to lead data governance, statistics and analytical capabilities that support transport-sector decision-making and performance monitoring. The role is onsite in Doha.

Key responsibilities

• Design data governance processes covering metadata, lineage, quality, ownership and controls.
• Build statistical analysis, forecasting, economic modelling and scenario-analysis approaches.
• Develop survey analysis methods, including transport-user satisfaction analytics.
• Specify data integration through APIs, database connections and other suitable interfaces.
• Guide BI dashboard design and management reporting.
• Promote alignment with ISO 27001 security and ISO 8000 data-quality principles.
• Work with transport and government stakeholders to validate data definitions and outputs.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in data governance, analytics, statistics or economic modelling.
• Transport-sector experience strongly preferred, ideally with a government body, transport authority or major consulting programme; backgrounds in aviation, maritime, ports, rail, roads and wider transport infrastructure will be considered.
• Experience working with government stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
• Must have worked with transport-sector projects and clients.
• Strong written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Willingness to work in Doha.

Required skills

• Practical understanding of metadata, lineage, databases, data integration and BI tools.
• Experience applying statistical methods to complex operational or government datasets.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001 and ISO 8000 is desirable.
