Data Engineer / BI Developer – SQL & Tableau

About the role

Avanceon is seeking a skilled Data Engineer / BI Developer to design, build, and maintain data solutions that empower business decision‑making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL development, ETL processes, and Tableau reporting, and will work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, views, stored procedures, functions, and database jobs.
• Design and optimise database schemas, reporting models and data structures.
• Build ETL pipelines to extract, transform and load data from multiple source systems.
• Create interactive Tableau dashboards, reports and KPI monitoring solutions.
• Implement efficient Tableau data sources, calculations, filters and drill‑down capabilities.
• Perform query tuning, performance optimisation and data validation.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, GIS specialists, SCADA engineers and customer teams to deliver reporting and analytics solutions.
• Support data analysis, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of reporting assets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in SQL development, data engineering or business intelligence.
• Proven ability to work in Agile/Scrum environments.
