About the role
The Data Steward ensures the accuracy, integrity, and governance of enterprise data assets. Acting as the primary custodian for assigned data domains, the role guarantees that data remains consistent, compliant, and trusted across business functions.
Key responsibilities
- Own data quality and definitions for designated domains.
- Execute and enforce enterprise data‑governance policies together with the Data Governance Officer.
- Maintain business glossaries, data definitions, and rules in the enterprise data catalog.
- Define, monitor, and validate data‑quality thresholds and profiling outputs.
- Investigate data issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and drive remediation.
- Align business data logic with technical data lineage across systems.
- Review compliance with data‑handling policies and manage data‑access requests under the principle of least privilege.
- Identify, escalate, and track data risks and non‑compliance for senior‑management visibility.
Required profile
- 5+ years of experience in data management.
- 2+ years in data governance, preferably within banking or financial services.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field.
- Data‑governance certifications (e.g., CDMP, DCAM) are a plus.
Required skills
- Data cataloging and data‑quality tools.
- Metadata management and data‑governance processes.
- Understanding of data flows, lineage, and business processes.
- Strong analytical and root‑cause analysis capabilities.
