Department Manager – Offshore Structural Engineering

About the role

Worley is seeking a Department Manager to lead its Offshore Structural Engineering team. You will oversee concept, FEED, and detailed design activities for topsides, jackets, and related substructures, ensuring safety, compliance, and delivery within budget and schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise structural engineers, designers, and draftsmen, maintaining technical competency through training and peer reviews.
• Forecast and allocate engineering resources across projects, managing mobilization and demobilization.
• Ensure design integrity, adherence to codes, standards, and company processes.
• Identify and implement structural software/tools, driving digital adoption.
• Collaborate across disciplines to improve communication and project execution.
• Manage design budgets, schedules, and corrective actions.
• Evaluate new technologies and benchmark designs for cost and productivity improvements.
• Support project execution strategy, work‑hour estimates, and schedule/budget planning.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in offshore structural engineering.
• Strong background in concept, FEED, and detailed design of offshore topsides, jackets, and substructures.
• Ability to develop talent, conduct performance management, and oversee resource planning.
• Experience ensuring compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and security standards.
