Department Manager – Retail Store

About the role

The Department Manager oversees daily operations of a specific department within a large‑format, big‑box store. The role ensures smooth functioning, drives sales, and meets key performance indicators while delivering high customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Manage overall department performance, ensuring operational excellence and adherence to company policies.
• Track and report KPIs such as sales targets, conversion rates, customer satisfaction scores, and stock loss prevention.
• Maintain visual merchandising standards and collaborate with the visual team on seasonal displays and promotions.
• Control inventory levels, conduct stock audits, and coordinate replenishment to avoid stock loss or overstocking.
• Ensure security and safety compliance, minimizing theft and creating a safe environment.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the department team through coaching, training, and performance management.
• Collaborate with other department managers and the Store Manager to align with store‑wide objectives.
