About the role
The Director Legal is responsible for safeguarding Ooredoo’s interests by providing expert legal advice on litigation matters and representing the company in all related actions. This senior position ensures that the group’s legal exposure is minimized and that any necessary legal actions are pursued effectively.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal support to all areas of Ooredoo’s business concerning litigation matters.
- Represent the company in all litigation actions, both defensive and offensive.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all litigation cases across the Ooredoo Group.
- Participate in settlement negotiations to protect the company’s position.
- Liaise with external law firms, supplying data, tracking progress, and ensuring timely, budget‑compliant case completion.
- Research relevant laws, new legislation, and maintain an up‑to‑date legal database.
- Advise the company on actions required due to legislative changes.
- Manage online subscriptions to law publications and the internal law library.
- Conduct compliance audits of policies and procedures, including tender evaluation processes.
- Provide guidance on contractual and policy issues, drafting and updating agreements for new products and services.
Required profile
- Extensive experience in managing litigation cases for a large corporate group.
- Proven ability to represent the company in court and negotiate settlements.
- Strong knowledge of local laws, regulations and emerging legislation.
- Experience coordinating external law firms and controlling budgets and timelines.
