Director of Sales

About the role

The Director of Sales will lead the hotel’s sales strategy, driving revenue across domestic and international markets while upholding Rixos Gulf Hotel Doha’s renowned hospitality standards. Reporting to senior management, you will coordinate closely with Rooms Division, Reservations and Food & Beverage teams to ensure seamless delivery of sales initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and target prospective key accounts, develop action plans and set sales goals based on historical data and market analysis.
• Represent the hotel at domestic and international fairs, aligning participation with the hotel’s business plan.
• Prioritise domestic market sales while collaborating with the General Manager on international market activities.
• Manage room availability for high‑booking periods in coordination with operations management.
• Maintain an optimal market mix to protect product quality and reduce dependence on any single segment.
• Conduct daily personal sales and courtesy calls (5‑7) and telephone calls (10) while ensuring prompt correspondence.
• Prepare weekly call reports and a comprehensive monthly report covering activities, prospecting trends, competitor analysis and forecasts.
• Participate in monthly sales, rooms division and credit meetings.
• Support accounts receivable follow‑up in line with credit policy and assist in contract negotiations with local inbound operators.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hotel or hospitality sales leadership.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret market data and forecast sales.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple hotel departments.
• Result‑oriented mindset with a focus on achieving key performance targets.
