Electrician – Maintenance & Safety Specialist

About the role

The Electrician is responsible for maintaining all electrical and electronic installations, machinery, automation, DP systems, navigation and communication equipment onboard. The role ensures equipment compatibility, regulatory compliance, and supports the emergency team.

Key responsibilities

• Verify that all mobilised electrical/electronic equipment is suitable for vessel power supplies.
• Ensure equipment complies with relevant rules, regulations and standards.
• Optimize inventory use and keep detailed maintenance logs.
• Act as a member of the emergency team as defined by the Muster List.
• Troubleshoot IT issues related to software, hardware, networking and provide support.
• Attend safety meetings and support the Chief Electrician and onboard maintenance teams.

Required profile

• Relevant electrical certification (e.g., electrician licence, marine electrical qualification).
• Experience with shipboard electrical systems and safety procedures.
• Ability to work safely, promote HSE behaviours and conduct risk assessments.
• Strong communication skills for toolbox talks and safety briefings.
