Engineer I – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

As an Engineer I you will respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues. You will perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment and mechanical‑room assets, including cleaning and lubrication. The role also involves visual inspections, inventory management and adherence to safety procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and provide timely solutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning and lubrication of kitchen and mechanical equipment.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment and machines for wear or damage.
• Identify, locate and operate shut‑off valves and utility shut‑offs for buildings.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved communication standards.
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other guestroom equipment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation and painting; hotel engineering experience is a plus.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Valid driver’s license.
