Engineering Team Leader

About the role

The Engineering Team Leader will oversee the engineering department at Banana Island Resort Doha By Anantara, ensuring that all hotel facilities, equipment, and systems operate safely, efficiently, and to brand standards. This role combines hands‑on technical work with leadership responsibilities to support a high‑quality guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily engineering operations, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
• Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance is carried out for all hotel equipment, rooms, and public areas.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and breakdowns to minimise guest impact.
• Support the Chief Engineer in planning schedules, manpower allocation, and maintenance priorities.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and fire‑life‑safety regulations at all times.
• Monitor energy consumption and support initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reports.
• Coordinate with other departments to support smooth hotel operations.
• Assist with training, coaching, and performance development of engineering team members.
• Supervise external contractors and ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical certification in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in hotel engineering or facility maintenance.
• Prior supervisory or team‑leading experience preferred.

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Proficiency with electrical systems.
• Understanding of plumbing and mechanical maintenance.
