ETL Developer - SAP BODS

About the role

An on-site ETL Developer position in Qatar focused on SAP BusinessObjects Data Services (BODS). The developer designs, builds and maintains data integration solutions by extracting data from multiple sources, transforming it according to business rules and loading it into target systems while ensuring data quality, accuracy and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy ETL jobs, workflows and data flows using SAP BODS.
• Extract data from SAP and non-SAP sources (ERP, databases, flat files, APIs) and load it into data warehouses or target applications.
• Implement data transformation, cleansing, validation and reconciliation logic.
• Optimise ETL jobs for performance, scalability and reliability.
• Support data migration and integration projects, including mock loads, cutover and go-live.
• Work with business analysts, data architects and functional teams to turn data requirements into technical designs.
• Prepare technical specifications, mapping documents and test cases; perform unit testing and support UAT and defect resolution.
• Monitor, schedule and troubleshoot ETL jobs using the Data Services Management Console and related tools.
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security and quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of ETL development experience, with hands-on SAP BODS (Designer, Management Console, Central Repository).
• Ability to work on-site in Qatar.
• Preferred: SAP data migration experience (e.g. ECC to S/4HANA), knowledge of SAP Information Steward, Data Services scripting or Python/shell scripting, exposure to Informatica, SSIS or Talend, banking or enterprise domain experience, and a SAP certification.

Required skills

• SAP BODS and strong SQL skills with Oracle, SQL Server, SAP HANA or similar.
• Data profiling, cleansing and transformation techniques.
• Experience with SAP source systems (ECC/S/4HANA) via extractors, IDocs, BAPIs or RFCs.
• Understanding of ETL, data warehousing, data modelling and data quality.
