FA Operator - Casthouse

About the role

The FA Operator works in the Casthouse, reporting to the Shift Supervisor. The role covers all operational tasks and duties in the Casthouse, assisting the Shift Supervisors and other team members to ensure safe and efficient operation, while operating equipment to meet safety, production, process and customer needs.

Key responsibilities

• Follow all operational procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
• Generate or assist in generating departmental reports on time and accurately.
• Comply with occupational health, safety and environmental regulations and keep work areas clean and tidy.
• Recommend continuous improvements based on international best practice and changing standards.
• Support the development and training of national employees (Qatarization).
• Help meet shift and daily production targets and act as team trainer or training coordinator when required.
• Take part in SOP and process audits, write and review SOPs, and coordinate schedules with process, maintenance and support teams.
• Carry out problem-solving and SPC exercises, consumables audits, and complete Job Observation, Task Analysis and Risk Assessments.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance, pre- and post-equipment inspections, and incident, injury and near-miss reporting.
• Operate Spectro lux equipment, including fault-finding and troubleshooting, and take part in TPM and AMPS activities.
• Take part in shift handover discussions, including Hot Seat Changeovers.

Required profile

• High School (Grade 12) certificate.
• Relevant driving license.
• At least 3 years of experience in Casthouse operations.
• Only candidates with Bachelor status will be considered.

Required skills

• Maintenance and repair proficiency level 2.
• Plant operations management and manufacturing and production proficiency level 2.
• Quality assurance and total quality management proficiency level 2.
• Analytical problem solving, teamwork, communication and computer skills.
