Factory & Production Manager - Marble Factory

About the role

The Factory/Production Manager oversees the entire marble factory production process and material management, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality output, timely delivery and compliance with safety and operational standards. The role plans, organizes and controls production to meet company targets while optimizing resources and reducing costs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and coordinate daily and weekly production, including cutting, polishing, edging, fabrication and finishing, and optimize machinery use to minimize downtime.
• Implement and monitor quality standards for marble slabs, tiles and custom items, inspect regularly and handle defects and rework.
• Supervise production supervisors, machine operators, technicians and labour, assign tasks, monitor performance and promote teamwork, discipline and safety.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance of cutting machines, polishing lines, CNC machines and other equipment.
• Monitor raw materials, consumables and tools, keep accurate stock levels of marble blocks, slabs, adhesives and blades, and work with procurement on replenishment.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and factory regulations, implement safety protocols and train workers.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production reports, track output, wastage and machine performance, and provide cost estimates, fabrication costing, production schedules and duration estimates for projects.

KPIs

• Customer order cycle time: shorten time from order to delivery and increase customer acquisition.
• Cost per unit manufactured: monitor direct and indirect costs to support pricing and cost control.
• Waste management: reduce scrap percentage, recycle and resell waste.
• Machinery readiness and maintenance cost: keep equipment maintained and lower maintenance costs.
