Field Service Engineer / Technician

About the role

The Field Service Engineer ensures safe, reliable and efficient operation of Atlas Copco Specialty Rental equipment on customer sites. You will act as the technical focal point, delivering installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and repair while supporting uptime and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead installation, commissioning, start‑up, performance testing and demobilisation of rental equipment and utility packages.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, instrumentation, engine, generator and control‑system faults.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance according to approved plans, work orders and safety requirements.
• Conduct site surveys, review utility requirements and provide technical recommendations for safe equipment selection.
• Lead root‑cause analysis for recurring failures and define corrective actions.
• Provide technical direction and supervision to technicians and operators on‑site.

Required profile

• Bachelor degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Instrumentation or related engineering discipline.
• Typically 3+ years of industrial field service experience with rotating equipment, utility systems, engines, generators and PLC‑based equipment.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, control diagrams and technical datasheets.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel extensively, including remote or offshore sites.

Required skills

• Advanced troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and instrumentation systems.
• Use of multimeters, diagnostic software, pressure and temperature measurement instruments.
• Experience with PLC/controller‑based equipment and rotating machinery.
• Strong English communication and technical reporting skills.
