Fire Alarm & Mass Notification Technician

About the role

The Fire Alarm & Mass Notification Technician is responsible for routine and complex maintenance, testing, and repair of fire alarm systems and suppression equipment, including wet sprinkler and kitchen extinguishing systems. The role supports deployed operations and ensures safety compliance in challenging environments.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, service, maintain, and repair fire alarm and suppression systems.
• Identify hazards, defects, and required adjustments, ensuring work complies with relevant codes.
• Develop and implement procedures to prevent recurring defects.
• Read and interpret system design plans, building construction drawings, and related documents.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• NICET Level I certification for Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Fire Alarm Systems (required).
• High School Diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in fire protection/life safety, including journeyman or foreman roles.
• Extensive knowledge of wet sprinkler and kitchen extinguishing systems.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license; U.S. passport preferred.
• Ability to meet USCENTCOM deployment policy and obtain a Qatar residency visa.
• Willingness to work in extreme environmental conditions and travel 100%.
• DoD Secret clearance must be maintained.

Required skills

• NICET Level I certification – Fire Alarm Systems.
• NICET Level I certification – Special Hazard systems.
• Knowledge of National Fire Alarm Code and UFC codes.
• Fire alarm system inspection and testing.
• Sprinkler system maintenance (wet, kitchen extinguishing).
• Reading and interpreting system design plans and construction drawings.
