General Instrument Technician II

About the role

The General Instrument Technician II is responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, overhaul and calibration of field instruments across the QatarEnergy refinery. Working under the Lead Instrument Engineer, the role ensures reliable operation of instrumentation that supports safe and efficient plant performance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of field instruments.
• Carry out repair, overhaul and calibration activities to meet plant specifications.
• Install, commission and test new instrumentation systems.
• Support integration of smart field instruments with DCS and PLC platforms.
• Apply hazardous area classification knowledge to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience as an instrument technician in refinery, oil & gas or petrochemical environments.
• Diploma in Instrumentation or Control Systems Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Strong command of spoken and written English.
• Experience in the Arabian Gulf region is desirable.
