Head Chef - Greek Restaurant

About the role

The Head Chef is responsible for the overall success of daily kitchen operations at a Greek restaurant in the St. Regis Residence, Marsa Arabia Island, Doha. The role combines hands-on cooking with leading the kitchen staff and managing all food-related functions, while improving guest and employee satisfaction within the operating budget.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all kitchen areas and shifts, ensuring consistent, high-quality food and compliance with food safety, sanitation and brand standards
• Prepare and cook food regularly and for special guests, develop menus and recipes, and check the quality of raw and cooked products
• Maintain purchasing, receiving, storage and portion control standards, and keep equipment in good working order
• Lead and develop the kitchen team, manage day-to-day operations, schedule staff and track attendance
• Handle guest complaints, coach staff on guest expectations and provide ongoing training on menu items
• Manage budgets, review staffing levels and order uniforms within budget
• Develop environmentally friendly processes for food preparation, energy use and waste management

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, or a 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management or a related major
• 4 years of culinary, food and beverage or related experience, or 2 years with a degree
