Head of Asset & Inventory Accounting

About the role

We are looking for a highly experienced Head of Fixed Assets & Inventory to lead the Fixed Assets and Inventory Accounting function in Doha. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, asset capitalization, inventory accounting, IFRS compliance, and strong financial controls within the healthcare and government sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage all Fixed Assets and Inventory Accounting activities, guaranteeing accuracy, compliance and operational efficiency.
• Oversee asset capitalization, depreciation, disposals, reconciliations, inventory valuation and financial reporting in line with IFRS and organisational policies.
• Ensure timely month‑end and year‑end closing, audit readiness, regulatory compliance and drive process improvements through ERP systems.
• Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, engineering, finance and other stakeholders to maintain precise asset and inventory records.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, strengthen internal controls and enhance reporting capabilities.
• Lead, mentor and develop the accounting team, managing performance and resource planning.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• At least 10 years in a managerial role overseeing Fixed Assets and Inventory Accounting.
• Minimum 10 years experience in the Healthcare/Hospital sector and 5 years in the Government/Public sector.
• At least 5 years of accounting experience in Qatar.
• Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, CFA or an MBA in Finance; additional certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience managing large‑scale fixed‑asset registers and inventory accounting functions.
• Strong background in capital project accounting, financial controls and audit compliance.
• Demonstrated leadership of accounting teams and cross‑functional stakeholders.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Oracle E‑Business Suite (EBS).
• Working knowledge of Oracle ERP, SAP or similar ERP platforms.
• Expert knowledge of IFRS, Fixed Asset Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Financial Reporting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
