Head of Construction – Offshore Decommissioning

About the role

The Head of Construction – Offshore Decommissioning leads the day‑to‑day decommissioning, dismantling and abandonment of offshore assets, ensuring all works are performed in line with approved scopes, drawings, QatarEnergy standards and HSE requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate between Project Manager, Asset Holder, contractors and construction supervisors to deliver decommissioning projects on schedule.
• Provide technical guidance to supervisors and contractors, ensuring execution follows approved method statements and quality standards.
• Review and approve contractor deliverables, including FEED and EPRD documents, method statements, inspection and test plans, schedules and drawings.
• Supervise a multi‑national workforce and manage on‑site safety, environmental and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee rigging, lifting and removal of offshore jackets, topsides, subsea pipelines and umbilicals.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of construction engineering experience, with at least 8 years in offshore oil & gas decommissioning.
• Proven track record managing large‑scale offshore decommissioning projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical or structural engineering; professional certifications (PMP, CEng) are a plus.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and strong interpersonal skills.
