Head of Digital Operations & Planning

About the role

The Head of Digital Operations & Planning will lead the operational management of Al Jazeera’s Digital Division. Reporting to the Manager of Business Performance, you will ensure the division delivers its strategic objectives through effective planning, governance, and financial control.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operational delivery across editorial, product, technology, audience and commercial teams.
• Translate strategic priorities into operational plans, measurable objectives and execution frameworks.
• Develop, monitor and report on the annual OPEX and CAPEX budgets, conduct variance analysis and identify cost‑optimization opportunities.
• Design and maintain performance measurement frameworks, KPIs and executive dashboards.
• Establish operational governance, internal controls, compliance and business continuity processes.
• Lead workforce planning and resource allocation in partnership with HR.
• Produce executive reports and operational insights for senior leadership.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in digital operations or similar large‑scale business environments.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing OPEX/CAPEX budgets.
• Ability to drive continuous improvement, automation and process optimisation.
• Excellent analytical mindset and data‑driven decision‑making.
